Responsible for delivering academic student support during non-school hours, which is integrated
with the school day academic program, a maximum of 5 hours per week. Collaborate with school
staff to align, support, and accomplish both school and Club academic outcomes.
Seasonal position, this is an academic year position, which is typically September through May.
Work with school staff to identify and recruit students in need of academic support. Determine individual student skill levels via Student Base Skill Checklist completed by school staff.
Gather and organize appropriate instructional materials. Develop a schedule of activities to support student academic achievement.
Provides tutoring, group, and one-on-one academic assistance to students. Makes parental contacts when students are absent in tutoring component.
Develop and implement lesson plans to facilitate student learning.
Routinely assess (formally and informally) each cohort of student assigned.
Use approved curricula properly and maintain appropriate teacher to student ratio and other program-specific requirements and expectations.
Supervises students engaged in quality activities to achieve specific goals and outcome measurements.
Create and expose youth engaged in quality activities to achieve specific goals and outcome measurements.
Provide routine support and guidance to youth as they develop individual goals and plans.
Encourages emotional, social and educational growth of individual members.
Provides guidance and direction to members in the areas of academic success, healthy lifestyles, and civic and community engagement.
Maintain ongoing communication with classroom teacher and parents via progress report forms-at each report card period.
Provides written documentation of program implementation and evaluation.
Maintain records on all program activities.
Ensure timely completion and submission of all relevant data including enrollment, attendance, assessment, and progress data as requested.
Report on student progress to Lead Teacher by assigned deadlines. Generate monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as requested.
Must meet required deadlines. Must participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.
Attend required meetings.
